Embedded technology is one of the most popular computer technologies.Embedded system is widely used in various fields with development of information technology and wide usage of digital products. Many academies have attached importance to the teaching experiment and application development about embedded system, and have given or plan to give the course about it. For this purpose, this paper places emphasis on the design and realization of an embedded experiment and development platform which can be applicable to the requirement of teaching experiment and application development.The core of this platform is the MCU S3C44B0X, which has a ARM core. The design expands almost all the hardware resources of the MCU, completes the develoment of BIOS and low-level drivers about some interfaces and the porting of uClinux and implement of device drivers such as USB,Ethernet, IDE, and realizes the main functions of an embedded experiment and development platform.This paper describes the system design and development process of the platform, mainly includes three parts. Part one describes the hardware design and implement, as well as the embedded system design summary that based on the ARM platform. Part two is about the implement of BIOS, talks about the development of low-level drivers and design of BIOS. Part three talks about how to build the embedded μClinux environment, port μClinux to this hardware platform and develop the device drivers of USB device, Ethernet device and IDE device. At last, the function test result of this platform is shown.
