The Research And Implementation Of CSCW CAD TalkAWareness System

The main idea of this paper is applying CSCW theory in the designing of new CSCW CAD System. A new Collaborative Doctor CAD (Co-Doctor CAD) is developed by integrating original single user Doctor CAD system and distributed system. The design target of the system is to deploy and run the system over Internet.As a collaborative system, Co-Doctor CAD focuses on human-machine interaction as well as human-human communication. A new talk awareness system is developed for the system. The nature of the talkawareness system of CSCW is to help the users in different location to communicate with each other. It's a combination of software and hardware system which takes the use of computer technique to simulate and replace the face-to-face communication. So CSCW talkawareness system implementes to combine all the communications methods including text, video, audio and operation sense etc. How to integrate the specific CSCW CAD system to the special needs of CSCW CAD human communication, and how to improve the existing methods of the communication are discussed in this paper.One of the new ideas of this paper is that peer-to-peer architecture is implemented in the talk awareness system of Co-Doctor CAD system. By allocating data transferring and computing task into the distributed network system, the heavy load on the center server is avoided. This will improve both the performance of the system and also that of the network. This paper experiments a method of quickly reuse the Doctor CAD system and add new functions on it.
