In order to solve the problem that complex mesh needs a huge storage and high transmission price, and is difficult to be edited, simple algorithms are often required obtaining a series of object simulations. Parameterization, remeshing and hole-filling are studied for the needs of this problem. In this paper, three different parameterization algorithms are adopted to analyze their different effects on mesh quality after remeshing. Based on the parameterized mesh over a planar domain, subdivision algorithm is used to transform the mesh with arbitrary structure to a regular triangular or quadrilateral mesh. The algorithms in this paper aim at remeshing not only disk-like objects without holes but also closed objects, which using the concept of extended boundary. The algorithms of dynamic remeshing and remeshing method based on contour curve are also put forward. Hole-filling algorithm as post-processing before remeshing can be divided into two parts that is to fill holes in points cloud model and to fill holes in triangular mesh model. To fill holes in points cloud model: the points of hole boundary and the points near the boundary points are found to form the free-form surface, after that, the surface is turned into points for the purpose of filling the hole. To fill holes in triangular mesh model: because of different types of holes after triangulation, two different hole-filling algorithms, simple hole-filling and complex hole-filling, are used to fill the different types of holes. The continuity and smooth problem are well resolved in the process of hole-filling.The algorithms in this paper are proved practical and efficient in our prototype system.
