Research Of Virtual Instrument Based On PCI Bus

A data collecting system based on PCI bus of PC is discussed in this thesis. This system extended the function of micro-computer and it can be used to sample analog signals and display data. This system is consisted of two main functional module. One is bus module and another is Data processing module. The bus moudule utilizes PCI9054 Protocol controller, made by PLX Technology, Inc. of America, as the core device. This module completes the connection of exterior signal source and PC system. To cooperate with the working of hardware, a device driver based on Microsoft Windows 2000 Operating System is developed. Data processing module is developed with Microsoft Visual C++ language. This module implements the function of virtual control. This thesis not only concludes the detailed discussion and explain on how to design hardware circuits, on how to develop device driver and on how to realize the virtual control software but also narrates the principles of hardware and software at large.
