Since infrared technology has a lot of features, such as concealment, anti-jamming and so forth, it has been used in many advanced weapons. In recent years, with the improving requirements from the military and others, in which the targets are required to be detected as soon as possible and as far as possible, there are a great deal of research interests in studying of the detection and tracking technology of small moving target from image sequence. Target detection and tracking is one of the most important things in infrared technology:Firstly, some background-constrained methods of IR images in cloud are mainly studied. Based on some basic background-constrained theories, three methods are studied and have been used in some simulations. These methods include: equal-power, unequal-power, and optimum-power. In the end draws some conclusions from simulation.Secondly, technologies of small target detection and track in IR image series are mainly discussed. On one hand, small target detection in image series by means of using some pertinence of images is studied;on the other hand, one method of target tracking by way of Kalman Filter is discussed. It also draws some conclusions.Finally, property of target detection is analyzed. Based on the course of target detection and tracking, property of target detection in a single image and in a series of images is mainly analyzed. Influence of radiation characteristic,motion characteristic,track relevancy arithmetic is quantificationally analyzed.
