With the development of virtual reality, the requirement of immersion for virtual environment has increased, and then there comes various virtual environments such as CAVE, projection array. The rendering of a single scene can't meet the requirement of these virtual environments. The proposition of cooperative rendering solves the problem of rendering several scenes synchronously, and makes the creation of all kinds of virtual effects more convenient. By using the cooperative rendering platform, the realization of distributed virtual environment turns out to be more convenient, the time needed to create the virtual environment is reduced and the reality is increased.The main contents are listed as follows:(1) The proposition of cooperative rendering. In order to render several scenes synchronously and satisfy the constraints among them, a new concept named collaborative rendering is proposed. In this dissertation, the concept and features are discussed and then it is compared with several other relative concepts, such as render farm and distributed rendering.(2) The construction of cooperative rendering platform. In order to prove the feasibility of the idea of cooperative rendering, a cooperative rendering platform named CoRenPlatform is presented, which has several features such as abundant model interface, centralized manipulation control, convenient cooperation environment and simple task node loading. The application of CoRenPlatform in MOVE system designed by VCC Division shows the validity of the platform.(3) The research of several key problems. Aiming at some features of cooperative rendering, some key problems occurring during the realization of the platform are researched, such as communication mechanism, scene management and rendering state management. Finally, the system requirement of real-time is reached. And through some constraints, cooperative browse and edit, the coherence result of the cooperative rendering is realized.
