As a new type of compression standard based on object, MPEG-4 can bewidely used in the fields of video phone, video email, electronic news, etc. So,digital watermarking copyright protection technology based on MPEG-4becomes many people's focus in recent years.Firstly, the current main video digital watermarking algorithms based onMPEG-4 are analyzed completely. Jordan algorithm, which has very goodperformance at real-time and watermark embedding capacity, is intensivelystudied. Base on the analysis of Jordan's algorithm, an improved video digitalwatermarking algorithm based on motion vector is proposed.Secondly, in order to improve Jordan algorithm's robustness, Arnoldtransformation, which has good dispersing performance and low computationalcomplexity, is introduced into watermarking image pretreatment process in theimproved algorithm. In order to improve Jordan algorithm's imperceptibility, anew method, which selects the watermark-embedding place according to thevalue of motion vector and the character of image texture, is proposed. At thesame time, considering the characteristic of motion vector coding in MPEG-4compression standard, the related motion vectors are compensated after thewatermark information bits are embedded.Thirdly, part of the watermark information can't be extracted correctly inJordan's algorithm. In order to handle this problem, the improved algorithmtakes different manipulations according to the positive and negative characterof motion vector.Finally, Jordan algorithm and the improved algorithm are realized underVisual C++6.0 programming environment. The two algorithms are comparedunder the same experimental environment. The experiment result shows thatthe improved algorithm has better performance at robustness andimperceptibility than Jordan algorithm.Video digital watermarking technology based on MPEG-4 standard isintensively investigated in this paper, and a MPEG-4 video-watermarkingalgorithm, which has good performance at robustness and imperceptibility, isrealized at last. Although this paper has just studied the watermarkingtechnology based on MPEG-4, the research method and innovation in thispaper can be a good research reference to digital watermarking field based onother formatted digital multimedia.
