Research And Development Of Platform Software For Embedded System Of GS32I-Oriented

Embedded system is an attractive technique in the field of information technology. With the fast development of micro-electronics and computer technology, 32-bit embedded system achives highly growth. CPU is the most important part in embedded system. An integral industry chain can be developed only we master the technique of the design of CPU. The GS32I CPU is a highly performance processor designed by BLX IC Design Company. It is a significant meaning in that Chinese master the critical technique in the area of information technology.In addition to the hardware, different kinds of applications need different kinds of software, in which the platform software is a basic layer. An application runs on a specific platform. The development of application is separated from the details of hardware by platform software. This helps developers focus on theirs own technique areas.This thesis introduces some researches on the platform software under platform of GS32I. The background of the thesis is a network video monitoring system and the thesis focuses on platform software. It also introduces the development related to application base on platform software, though it's not primary.The content showed below is studyed:(1) Study of MIPS architecture and the building of Linux development environment: Study of MIPS architecture and introduces the method of building Linux development environment.(2) Porting of U-Boot: This thesis introduces two software tools first. The two tools help the porting of U-Boot. And then it discusses the method of porting U-Boot, including the boot of CPU, the implement of hardware driver and the boot of Linux. This is the critical content of the thesis.(3) Building of Debian filesystem and porting of driver of the VW2010 audio and video card: Study the method of building Debian filesystem on the platform of gs32i. Porting an application for gs32i by writing a driver directly for the card.Finally, based on the summaries of all research works, some suggestions and prospect for further researchs are put forward.
