In recent years, with the rapid development of embedded technology, embedded operating systems are indispensably for the design and implementation of embedded system. However, an existing embedded operating system almost has the following weakness: it is a commercial production or monolithic kernel architecture. The large payment of copyright limits the use of commercial EOS, and it's difficult to port a monolithic kernel EOS to a given hard platform. Therefore, In this thesis, a component software technology is used to study and develop embedded operating system, and a configurable portable extendable embedded operating system is proposed and designed. The application of Internet has come into everywhere for people's daily life. With the rapid development of Internet, besides computer, a great number of embedded devices begin to access Internet. Considering the characteristics of embedded system, an implementation of the Internet protocols will have to deal with having limited computing resources and memory.First, the paper introduces the development platform of embedded operating system based on components. Second, the paper describes the Light-weight stack, and compare it with the standard TCP/IP stack. Then, the paper gives emphasis to the design and implement methods of the protocol stack. Finally, some tests for the function and performance of the protocol stack are given.
