Design technique of the SOC(System on Chip)was developemented rapidly in recent years . It brings a considerable revolution to the electronic industry. The SOC design method is replacing the traditional design method, and it has been being used widely in consumer electronics, communication terminals and network equipments. A hardware/software co-design platform-based SOC design method is built in this dissertation. Thus,hardware and software development can work in a concurrent, co-design, co-simulation and co-verification way on this design platform.Recently, SD and MMC card are the most popular Flash card in mass-storage market. They have being widely used in digital cameras, mobile telephone and PDA. A hardware/software co-design SOC platform is setup for SD/MMC card production tool project in this dissertation. This system can accomplish mostly manufacture procedure including downloading firmware to card, copying data from card to cards, scanning and erasing card. The following are some new techniques used in this system: 1. Single chip multiprocessor based FPGA can communicate with PC and control manufacture procedure of SD/MMC card in real time; 2. A firmware downloadable structure of hardware make it possible and convenient to update the firmware; 3. Secure Digital memory card interface IP module is built and then the system can communicate with SD/MMC card easily. This system has been used in industry mass production manufacture.Most SD/MMC cards use Flash memory as storage media, but there are many different kinds of Flash memory in the market, which have different electrical characteristic and performance. A Flash chip quality testing system based SD controller and microcontroller is designed in this dissertation, and it can test Flash's static current, erase Flash and grade the Flash chip. This system has been used in manufacture as an assistant of system for Manufacture of SD/MMC cards.
