Research And Design Of Auto-brand Recognition Technique On The Automobile Checking Station

With the rapidly development of the economy in our country, and with the unceasing improvement of our standard of living, more and more vehicles are running in the street, and then effectual traffic management becomes a important problem that every city is faced with. Under this circs, for the safety of the people and their wealth, preventing traffic accidents and confusions becomes very important. Especially, automobile should be examined and repaired regularly.Through earnest investigate and research to the automobile checking station, I found that automobile data be registered into computer artificially before it was examined and repaired. There are too many vehicles and too much workload, so the workers often make the mistakes of matching data of this auto to other one and making cars out-of-order. Usually, in the automobile checking station, there are many autos queuing for examination. For the sake of saving time and preventing traffic jam, there are the two measures we can take: the first one is increasing the sum of station for auto checking;the second one is improving the checking speed and finishing more auto in the same time. But we will have to spend too much in building a new checking station, such as manpower, material resources and grounds etc. So it is a superiority to improve efficiency of the checking station.In this paper, the author introduced to carry out license plate auto-recognition technology in the automobile checking station through extensive investigation and research. It was On the basis of existent checking system and on the basis of the advanced technology of license plate auto-recognition. The application of this technology will be propitious to reduce misoperation of operator and prevent the confusions between auto and its data. It can also improve the working efficiency and the automatization level of the checking station.
