cdma2000 is one of the most competitive standards in 3G mobile communicationsystem, and cdma2000-1x is the evolutionary enhancement of IS-95. Whilemaintaining complete backward compatibility with IS-95 system, cdma2000 adoptsmany new techniques. cdma2000 is supposed to be a stable and reliable way tochange the mobile system from 2G to 3G.This paper analyzes the reverse link of cdma2000 system. It describes the physicallayer and tries to reconcile the simulation result with theoretical predictions based on3GPP2 standard and Cadence SPW software system. Reverse Pilot Channel, AccessChannel, Enhanced Access Channel, Common Control Channel and Traffic Channelhave been designed and combined by the MAC layer control modules at the mobileand base station sides.Multi-user detection is a heated research field these days. Based on the traditionaldetection technique, it has excellent anti-interference performance because it makesfull use of all users'information to detect a single user's signal information.This paper discusses the best-fit multi-user detection technique for cdma2000reverse link, that is, Parallel interference cancellation (PIC) detector, and its detailedrealization scheme in base station receiver. By means of the performance compare andintegrated analysis between PIC schemes with and without decoding, this paperprovides a RAKE receiver structure with multi-user detection, which could flexiblyadapt the different requirements of different services in cdma2000. The result of thescheme is carefully tested by the simulation in SPW software platform as well.To solve the problems of the traditional PIC receiver, this paper also presents aChoice approximate decorrelation-parallel interference cancellation(CAD-PIC)detector, which is a combination of a fast decorrelating algorithm andPIC detector. The scheme provided performance efficiently in the original datajudgment and delay disposal. The result is verified, too.
