The optical communication has progressed into a mature industry and the corresponding R&D in telecommunication instruments established an important foundation for its development in technique. In this dissertation, the working principle with key technique of the EDFA power supply,the fiber dispersion and index distribution measurements are presented respectively. With the two power supply of 980nm EDDA,three apparatus of dispersion measurement and the instrument measuring the fiber index distribution are successfully designed and debugged, the prototypes in lab have been transferred into commercial models. 1. 980nm LD requires little ripple in power supply, resistance to the high frequency interference, having the function of protecting itself and reset automatically, according to this, several design method are presented after analyzing the advantage and disadvantage of the analogy feedback and the microchip feedback. 2. Using the analogy circuit, a EDFA power supply are developed with temperature controlling. The function of each component are analyzed and the experiments proved its stability and dependability. 3. A new design working at the wavelength of optical communication(1550nm) is presented after comparing several possible method of SMF dispersion measurement, and also the theoretical analysis is performed. 4. A high Q value positive band-pass filter is designed and the experiments proved its possibility. 5. The key and difficult parts are illustrated and a practical apparatus measuring the SMF dispersion is manufactured which is applied in teaching displaying system of optical communication. 6. The experiments testified the possibility of the measuring system of fiber dispersion with ±1ps for SMF, which reached the original demand. And the apparatus had been used as teaching instruments for Fudan University and Tianjin University. 7. Successfully in R&D of a instrument measuring the clad index distribution of muti-mode fiber.
