The Study Of LMS Improved Based On The Smart Antennas

Smart antenna technology for mobile communication system in the third generation is to reduce the total access interference, improve spectrum utilization, increase system capacity, reduce launching power and space electromagnetic interference, divide dynamically the areas and so on. Compared with other technologies, the applications of smart antenna technology in the mobile communication show great potential. First the paper introduces the background and developments of smart antenna research. And secondly it elaborates the theory of smart antenna, the basic concepts related in detail. It focuses on LMS algorithm research and analysis. It makes use of existing algorithms and principles to improve LMS algorithm. For traditional LMS algorithm can't resolve the contradiction between fixed-rate and stable error, the improved LMS resolves this problem. Through computer simulation it improves their performance. The simulation results show improved LMS that solve the problem in convergence. There is a noticeable improvement in convergence. At last it analyses the realization principles and methods of smart antennas based on software radio architecture.
