Thesis And Dissertation Based On OAI-PMH Protocol And OpenURL Standard Framwork

OAI-PMH uses metadata harvesting mechanism to improve mutual operation capability between different databases.OpenURL frame and Z39.88 standard describe objects and their transmission mechanism in context. Therefore, the information resources management system, based on OAI and OpenURL, is characterized by its good openness, mutual operation and resources integration.Thesis and dissertation, used to record knowledge information and reflect teaching and scientific and research achievements, thus are significant academic fruits for every school. With the widespread use of computer technology, most of theses in recent years are recorded in and typed by computers, which results in a lot of "original" electronic texts. However, before establishing collecting mechanism for electronic text, a great deal of E-texts has been lost with the graduation of students, which is quite regretful. The establishment of theses database helps to better utilize academic resources in this regard, put its academic value into full play by offering relevant research trends, theories and methods to researchers; In addition, its publication on the internet makes its achievements receive more attention than before, which can further reduce plagiarism and better protect the author's scientific achievements, and can help a better knowledge of current academic level so as to encourage more advanced theses appear.On the basis of detailed analysis of OAI and OpenURL, a systematic design and encoding of the theses management system, (including system frame designs, data structure design, applied model design and operation function design) and a through analysis and study of its application have been made. What's more, the development detail has also been talked about in this paper.
