Focused on the practical applications of Portable and Mobile Devices, expatiate upon the significance and method of research on Video Image Segmentation. Compare and analyze deeply the current theory and algorithms of Video Image Segmentation, and bring forward the improvement on them. Based on the embedded CPU of Intel Xscale, implement the OpenGL ES API for computer graphics. Further more, realize the visualization of Video Image on Portable and Mobile Devices. Achieve excellent performance on Video Image Segmentation and its visualization, forecasting the future development. Composed of six chapters, in the first chapter narrates the sense of research on Video Image Segmentation and the foreground of multimedia application on Portable and Mobile Devices. In the second chapter, probes into the elementary theory of Video Image Segmentation from the view of Set Theory. In the third chapter, contrasts and analyzes the popular algorithms of Video Image Segmentation, with putting forward the improvement idea. In the fourth chapter, presents the principle and APIs of OpenGL computer graphics standard, and introduces the architecture and application of Intel Xscale, which is a kind of popular embedded CPU aimed at Portable and Mobile Devices currently. In the fifth chapter, explains the implementation framework of OpenGL ES and the programming of visualization of Video Image. In the sixth chapter, from the current marketing demand, prospect the promising future of research and application about Video Image Segmentation and Visualization for Portable and Mobile Devices.
