Plasma display panel (PDP) is believed to be the promising candidate for the wall-hanging large screen TV and HDTV in 21st century. Among all the PDP products, the ACPDP with modular structure developed by ZheJiang University is considered as one of the best large-screen display equipment in future. Due to the special features such as high density pixels and edgeless technology, this type of PDP screen can be easily expanded to any size to meet the display requirement with no perceivable loss of display information.The whole system of large-screen TSPDP (Tile Screen PDP)can be divided into two parts — the display panel and the circuit system. Circuit system's design and functions play important roles in the performance of the whole system. In the circuit system, the research and design of the interface converting circuit, the driving and controlling circuits whose performance will directly influence the display image quality of TSPDP should be seriously considered,In this dissertation, the research and implementation of the interface circuit (VGA graphic converter), driving and controlling circuits will be analyzed in detail. These circuits, which were designed to meet the specific application of TSPDP, have been applied on a 156×256×3 over-large TSPDP screen, and proved to be stable and well-working. Finally, according to the experimental experiences, some solutions to system level design problems have been summarized.
