The rapid development of the Internet has caused the extreme shortage of IP address, the appearance of IPv6 will solve this problem, almost every country puts into the research of IPv6 actively. So,the research of Ipv6 and relative technology has been advanced topic.First,in this paper we introduce the current development and main characteristics of IPv6, then we do the summary to the basic knowledge of Ipv6 , mainly explained the address allocation of IPv6, header format and ICMPv6 rudimentary knowledge. Afterwards, we introduce the important transition technique,so as Dual Stack Technology, Tunnel Technology, Tunnel Broker, Network Address Translation-Protocol Translation, Stateless IP/ICMP Translation.Next,to construct the test web,weintroduce the IPv6 structure under Windows 2003 operating, IPv6 tools, IPv6 command line tools. Afterwards,we design and implement an IPv6 basic experiment net.Through the package captured from the experiment net,we analyze the structure of neighbor solicitate message,which can deepen the understanding of Ipv6 ,test the basic characteristics fo IPv6. Later, we design the Ipv6 interoperate experiment net,choose Linux Operating System to be main OS to do net experiment,propose a technical scheme of test net based on 6to4 mechanism and ISATAP mechanism,by capturing data package on the network, we analyzed the principle of ISATAPtunneling in detail.At last,we introduce the fundational knowlage of Protocol Conformance Testing.
