Inverted pendulum system is a typically rapid, multi-variable, nonlinear, absolutely instability system, and it is the favorite problem in the control theory and application .Because it is a typical experiment device to test the modern control theory, and also its control technique and idea is useful to average industrial process.For inverted pendulum, this article made a study on T-S fuzzy controller to reduce dimension. After concisely introducing the development and current situation of inverted pendulum system research, the mechanism and mathematical model of inverted pendulum are presented. And the article also introduces fuzzy theory and fuzzy controller. Secondly, the article discusses T-S fuzzy controller. Many simulation researches on T-S controller of inverted pendulum have been done using MATLAB and SIMULINK. Thirdly, a T-S fuzzy controller to reduce dimension is presented in this article. The only antecedent variable is taken in the method, such as angular position, angular velocity, cart position, and cart velocity. To express the different role of each input item on system performance clearly, a dynamic importance degree is connected independently for each input item. So far, this method has not been appliedin T-S fuzzy model. Finally, on the basis of the summarization of the research results in this dissertation, the future developments are discussed.
