Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) is an important technology in both medical diagnoses and interposal therapy, which application is very universal. By using computer digital image processing, DSA can eliminate the interferential background and give prominence to blood vessel that doctors interest.In the beginning, this article analyses the format of medical image in DICOM 3.0 standard, and DSA file's decoding is implemented according to it. Three principles for selecting image enhancement methods, which suit DSA medical image, are presented by analysis in characteristics of DSA medical image. According to these principles, several means for enhancing DSA medical image, such as subtraction, logarithm transformation, frames overlap technology, window display technology, pseudocolor enhancement and threshold segmentation, are selected and realized. Meanwhile, these technologies are applied to cerebral DSA medical image. As a result, very clear subtraction images are obtained, which suit the request of medical diagnose, and the medical experts give high score on the effect of it. In the end of the paper, a summary of my work and future imaging of the research are given.The research is cooperated with the first affiliated hospital of Soochow university, and funded by the natural science foundation of Jiangsu province.
