The thesis introduces the definition, features, developing process and application of the embedded processor. It also involves the types and operating system of the embedded processor. Meanwhile the developing procedure and environment concerning the embedded system are laid out as well. Besides, it makes a research on the hardware resource and start-up mode of Mico 2440 development board as well as the transplant of the kernel of Windows CE. Consequently, the design for household alarm based on ARM9 processor comes into being. All is done with the monitoring sensor which can judge who breaks in aided by laser pulse and pulse discriminating circuit as well as the S3C2440 central control chip made by Samsung Company for invasion monitor, short message transmission, video capture and storage. When monitoring someone breaking in, the alarm will take advantage of GSM module and send the instant message to the owner through short message service system. At the same time, the webcam will start to work for video capture and storage. Then, the thesis concludes with the completion of hardware manufacture in which embedded Windows CE operating system is distributed and the edited application mirroring is also transplanted for debugging. At last, the results prove that the system have a steady performances and targets meet the requirements of the design .
