The Fieldbus network is used in the domain of automation , production, manufacture and monitoring in the industrial environment. In the beginning of the history the structure of Fieldbus just looks like bus-structure, in the later the Ethernet technology has been developed gradually and there has been a kind of Fieldbus which base on Ethernet switch technology , also known as the industrial Ethernet。The industrial Ethernet technology is based on the IEEE802.3 protocol, just like the Ethernet network, it has shown a excellent openness, so that it can fit for many of other kinds of industrial network, even fit for the Ethernet which used in the domain of business. The difference between the two kinds of Ethernet network is that, the industrial Ethernet has the characters which can fit for the industrial environment, just like real-time communication, anti-jamming and security. The nodes in the industrial Ethernet can communication via the industrial switch.In industrial environment, there're different kinds of networks, they were all called Fieldbus. Besides the industrial Ethernet there also has another type of Fieldbus technology which has shown a bus-structure. The two of them can't connect directly via the industrial switch, so there should be a universal switch which will be designed to fulfil the transformation and exchanging among almost all kinds of industrial networks.At first, the article will introduce the composition of the bus-structure network and the Ethernet-structure network, then do an analysis and contrast of their frame structures and the way of communication, and put forward the requirements of the scheme: use a switch equipment to connect the bus-structure network and the Ethernet-structure network, just like a network bridge does, so all the nodes of both the two kinds of networks can exchange their data successfully. In the scheme we transform the frames of different networks to be the same user-defined form to let it can be transmitted via the switches which connect both the two kinds of the industrial networks, in the meanwhile the switch also makes a universal transmit table of network addresses to addressing the right way among different kinds of network. We also integrate the priority level of the network-data-service, use VLAN technology, TRUNK, port Mirroring, IEEE802.1p, RSTP (Spanning Tree Protocol) etc. These technologies mentioned have supported the usability of universal switch in industrial environment.
