At present, with multimedia network and computer technology development, the image processing technology has developed rapidly. In the wireless multimedia network, video image sensor is gain in large capacity from many different types of multimedia sensors. It has too rich content and high-resolution information to demand large storage and high transmission speeds. Therefore, it needs not only make different resolution image fusion from sensor, but also have a simple, fast and effective coding method to compress images. According to problems proposed above, the following research is done:1) While there are multiple images whose relationship of resolution are not integral multiple is obtained by different sensors to measure the same object scene, it obtains corresponding low-frequency approximate image by wavelet packet transform to make the relationship of resolution image change from no-integral multiple to integral multiple. Then Kalman filter technology is used to solve images fusion of no-integral multiple sampling from different sensors.2) Based on the fractal technology of the difference image. It introduces the search technology to get the maximum change pixel arrays from the variable difference blocks, and makes use of the run-length and Canonical Huffman codes to compress video image. Thereby, a new compression method base fractal idea is proposed. Theoretical analysis and simulation show that the new method uses the time redundancy of video image fully to improve the compression ratio and reduce the data transmission effectively, again, to keep lossless characteristics and realize easily.3) Aiming at the characteristics of image monitoring system, a new hybrid image compression method is proposed. Based on the distribution of monitoring image content, the two parameters of low complexity which are the brightness rate and the motion activity of the current image block are introduced to discriminate the impor- tance regions. It not only realizes a simple and effective lossless coding on compress- ing the block of important content, but also has high compression rate on image.4) According to current building monitoring system and characteristics of wireless sensor network, combining with image processing methods in front of the chapters, a new and safety wireless network monitoring system is designed.
