As an effective method to realize copyright protection and covert communication,video information hiding has attracted much attention. Video information hidingbased on visual perception characteristics has important research values and broadapplication prospects. The major problem of perception based information hiding ishow to build the visual perception model and adopt it in video information hiding.This paper derives the information hiding based on visual perception model fromhuman visual system; in the light of wide application of compressed video,information hiding based on H.264 is also studied in this paper.The main work and innovation are as follows.1) A novel algorithm of image steganography using the combinational spatial andfrequency domains is presented. In this algorithm the edge property of the entireimage and other factors such as luminance of the image are both considered.According to the multi-parameter spatial contrast sensitivity function, contrastmasking based on classification of DCT blocks, and the edge property of the image,different areas are chosen to embed the secret information in spatial or frequencydomains. Experimental results show the algorithm can get a capacity promotionwithout noticeable distortion.2) A novel video steganographic algorithm based on CSF and H.264 is presented.CSF operator can be used to effectively discriminate the fast moving blocks and slowmoving blocks in image. It's modified to distinguish the insensitive frequency andsensitive frenquency for Steganography in order to realize blind extraction. Secretinformation is embedded according to the number of the insensitive frequency in a4x4DCT block.
