PXI bus is a wide used bus protocol during these years, it is an extension based on PCI bus, and mainly applied in instrumentation and automation fields. Because of its modular architecture and flexibility, test systems based on PXI has been increasingly become a movable and low cost choice. This paper put forwards the design of a PXI-based test system which is used to testify the working state of missile launching system. Compares to the original systems based on VXI bus, this PXI-based solution provide various advantages such as low cost, mobility, and flexibility.At the beginning, we discussed the overall framework of the test system based ont the test requirements of the missile launching system, after this, the methodology of interfacing with PXI bus is discussed, where both the design methods:FPGA based and PCI I/O accelerator PCI 9054 based is discussied. Then, the hot-swap technology of PXI module is introduced, as well as the practical hardware implementation using LTC1646 and PCI 9054. Another topic of this paper is the realization of parallel A/D DAQ and serial A/D DAQ, which also discusses the noise depression of analog circuits, isolation between data acquisition channels, and error correction of the data acquisition module. Finally, the method to testify and verify this PXI-based test system is introduced, based on the verified information, both hardware and software design are correct, the system therefore is capable of excuting required test projects.This paper accomplished the design method of a PXI-based test system, in which PXI interface circuit based on PCI 9054 and IP core is discussied. During the designing of two key components: Parallel A/D module and Serial A/D module, we overcome the limit of PCB board, improve the density of sampling channels, and raise the accuracy of these components. After the debugging period which is carried out in field, the system is proved to have a stable performance, at the same time, this system is easy to carry and prize affordable, thus making it suitable for the test mission of the missile launching system.
