A variety of system errors are need to be calibrated and revised during the development process of the satellite earth station and the maintenance process after the completion of the satellite earth station. Therefore, in order to reduce or eliminate the system errors of the ground station system itself, and to improve the measurement accuracy during the implementation of the ground station's mandate, a regular or occasional (pre-mandate) calibration is necessary for the gound station.This paper mainly studies the calibration technique which is applicable to a satellite ground station,and mainly is divided into the agular and zero-range calibration in two parts.The background, purposes, contents of the research and the domestic and foreign conditions of the calibration technology is discussed in the paper.The composition and working principle of the antenna system of a certain type of satellite earth station is introduced in the paper.The measurement error which has an impact on the tracking of the antenna angle and the range is analyzed theoretically,and the axial system error of the X/Y-type antenna tower is also analyzed theoretically in the paper.The angular calibration method is described, the test results are given and analyzed.In the zero-range calibration,the location theory is introduced,and the program of the non-tower zero-range calibration is proposed.In the end, the main tasks of this article is summarized,and the gaps and improved methodology of the calibration method of a certain type of satellite earth station is pointed out.Through the study of this topic, the calibration method which is suitable for the satellite earth station is found. The research topic is mainly reflected in some aspects: the sun and satellite calibration method is successfully applied in the " refers to the North" calibration of the antenna, and the method is simple, easy to operate without a lot of manpower and material resources involved, and the calibration precision is high; an method which is used to modify the encoder reading is proposed,and the method reduces the measuring times and improves the woring efficiency.the non-tower zero-range calibration is proposed,and the method has a certain strong feasibility and practicality.
