High-performance computing(HPC) is a symbol of comprehensive national strength. It can improves the technology,solves the economy,society,national defence and security problems. In our country, the hardware of HPC have many of achievements. but,the apply of HPC is so poor. The reason is a little of people to study and research, it is urgent to foster people who master HPC. So,HPC course become more and more important.The goal of HPC is to apply. In our country, many of people hear HPC, but a little of people to use it . High-performance computing has a strong practical, students should not only know the theoretical knowledge, but also hold the operating skills and can be applied in practice.We must foster more and more students that master HPC.The case-based teaching method is a method that introduces situation by describing real cases, arouses analysis, deducing, gathering , and finally solves practical problems. The application of case-based method to computer teaching is just in early stage in our country . Therefore , bringing task-driven mode into the expanded part of case into case-based teaching process is a kind of exploration and tryout.The case-based teaching in China to apply computer teaching is more and more, while the case of teaching used in teaching high-performance computing course rarely. In the case of teaching activities, links in the case of the introduction of task-driven mode of development is a new exploration and attemption.The paper with case teaching and task-driven teaching advantages, high-performance computing curriculum content and features of the case teaching used in teaching high-performance computing program conducted research, carried out in the application of this case in the further introduction of teaching task-driven thinking, the formation of high-performance computing program task-driven teaching cases. According to the teaching objectives to develop the design task, In accordance with the mandate to develop, step by step to complete. Way that can be expected to encounter difficulties and can not be expected, after learning the team's efforts, overcome difficulties to complete the task.Researchers in the teaching practice, and the cases were evaluated and analyzed, the study team evaluation for small way, the students also made consistent with cognitive psychology and in accordance with the characteristics of high performance computing education teaching point of view. Students select the hardware, software, build high-performance computing environment; next step is selection of biological information processing mpiBlast program as specific applications; The third step is building a database; fourth step for serial, parallel mpiBlast or BLAS procedures compared .Finally, the researcher through the process and results of research and analysis, combined with the actual situation at home and abroad that the high-performance computing course is most difficult to learn after the learner must have the ability to use in practice. Teaching process should pay attention to theory and practice, students begin to solve the problems. This will not only learn the knowledge, but also can improve scientific literacy. More work for future study provides a strong foundation.
