With the development of the Remote Sensing, especially the sensor technology development makes a great rich in data source, the various data with different time, space,spectrum and polarization has been produced. But the information content of one data source is limited. The multi-sensor image fusion has been developed.The methods and arithmetic based on the remote sensing data are discussed in this paper. The current development status of the domestic and international image fusion technology also has been discussed. The remote sensing software with image fusion modules are researched. Taking into account the needs of particial application, the multi-senior image fusion module is developed. With the example of the HIS and wavelet fusion method has been developed. The existing HIS fusion has been discussed,such as the full-color images replace the I component method,the weighted average method,pixel maximum method,pixel minimum method and histogram matching method.An improved image fuse algorithm based on HIS method is applied using the whole, proportion, block-by-pixel methods by changing the mean and variance.Wavelet fusion method also has been discussed.Compared with the choice of the wavelet basis,the wavelet decomposition determination and wavelet fusion rules.A combination of HIS and wavelet image fusion method that domestic and foreign software is not contained is added in the module, which makes full use of the advantages of different methods. In the above achievable methods, an improved remote sensing image fusion method based on HIS and wavelet transformation has been proposed and proved a feasible algorithm. A more effective image fusion applies on special data sources, and the fused image has a higher reliability, less ambiguity, better intelligibility, more suitable for computer vision, inspection, classification, identification, understanding to deal with.The existing method and the improved algorithm is researched, then the further research of the multi-source data and the development of the fusion technology is proposed.This paper researches on the image fusion assessment, and the various assessment methods. finally an independent remote sensing multi-source fusion evaluation is integrated.
