Wireless sensor network is a multi-hop ad hoc network, which are made up of many cheap, lower power micro-sensor nodes with sensing capability, nested computation capability, data processing capability and wireless communication capability. Wireless Sensor Network has a large rang of application including national Security, environmental monitoring, traffic management, medical health, animal and plant protection, and becomes one of the research hot-points around the world. With the development of wireless sensor network and its industrialization, its security issues are becoming more and more pronounced.Because of its limited power energy, limited computing speed, limited communication capability and limited memory, wireless sensor network has very clear differences from the traditional wireless networks in the security design. Because of its poor work environment, most of the environment is no man zone and vulnerable to damage, the requirement of node security, information confidentiality and integrity are relatively high.In the first, this paper briefly introduces the research background of the security aspects of wireless sensor network and the current research status. Then, it discusses the security-related wireless sensor protocols, the security issues that each layer faced with, and the related performance assessment methods. Last, it analysis the traditional technology of encryption and decryption and the key management scheme, meanwhile, the improvements are carried out in order to make it applicable in wireless sensor networks.Based on the analysis of the possible invasion of wireless sensor network, this paper designs a new intrusion detection system model of wireless sensor network. In this model, intrusion detection mission will be split to achieve a number of common nodes, in order to reduce the burden on each node and reduce energy consumption, and to maintain energy balance between nodes. At last, the thesis summarizes the whole content and makes an expectation on the direction of research and the work of research in the future.
