Research On Developing A System For General Survey On Chinese Archives Websites

As an important content of archival informationization, archives websites construction has been in great progress in recent years. However, due to different levels of archives management and facilities condition in various units, departments, and regions, the construction level of archives websites is irregularity. To acquire first-hand data of archives websites construction, Nanjing University started "A General Survey on Chinese Archives Websites (GSCAW)" in 2004.In this thesis, the author applies the computer technology to develop a "System for General Survey on Chinese Archives Websites (SGSCAW)" so as to meet needs of GSCAW. SGSCAW would be applied in the GSCAW of 2010 in order to test its effects. The author hopes this paper will form distinct features of research results in this field. This thesis is made up of seven parts.PartⅠ:Introduction. Firstly, this chapter presents the research background and significance, reviews the research progress about system development for web survey, and then discusses the methods, framework and main innovations.PartⅡ:The design and implementation of GSCAW. The author presents in detail scheme designs of GSCAW, including investigation purpose, objects and contents, and expounds the implementation of GSCAW.PartⅢ:Analyzing on GSCAW of 2004-2009. The thesis not only points out that the subject has been made achievements, but also objectively points out that it has workload, low efficiency, data quality problem, and so on, in the implementation of subject.PartⅣ:The design and implementation of SGSCAW. Firstly, the author introduces the principles, ideas and related technologies of system development, and then, describes the various functions and its realization technology of user logging module, survey module, data statistics module, data backup and recovery module and data integrity control module, and finally expounds the design of system database.PartⅤ:The implementation and operation of SGSCAW. The paper discusses in detail the environment deployment, access settings and use of operation in the application process of SGSCAW.Part VI:The empirical analysis of GSCAW in 2010. This part of thesis tries to confirm that the system has advantages of intelligence input, online data sharing and conveniently use of statistical results compared with previous year survey, with the GSCAW of 2010 as empirical analysis.Part VII:The conclusion. This thesis describes the system need to be perfected in the function and use.The development of SGSCAW is not only beneficial to carry out the GSCAW scientifically, but also a useful attempt for informationization of archival statistics.
