3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the biggest new technique research and development project started by 3GPP in recent years. This OFDM/FDMA based technique is the evolution of the 3G and can be seen as 4G technique. The Home Base Station is a new base station technique aiming to enhance the indoor cover performance. It is a small cell network, can also be regarded as Femtocell. In LTE system, the name of the home base station is Home evolved NodeB, and HeNB for short.The LTE standardization work is in process and will be deployed for commercial use in the whole world in several years. In order to investigate if the HeNB can be deployed on the basis of existing Macrocell network and insure that the HeNB will not bring obvious effect on the conventional Macrocell network, whether the Macrocell throughput loss is in the tolerable range should be measured. The RF parameter configuration and interference management of the HeNB can directly influence the deployment of the HeNB, and influence the phase of the commercial use of the LTE system. Meanwhile, if the proper radio resource management method is proposed, the HeNB can be in coexistence with the Macrocell, become the supplementary of the Macrocell and be widely used. The study on the coexistence of the Macrocell and HeNB is of high theoretical and engineering value.This paper discussed the coexistence of HeNB and Macrocell in detail according to the LTE system standard and HeNB related specification. The paper illustrated the interference principle and general study method of the coexistence of Macrocell and HeNB in LTE system, proposed a load based radio resource allocation method in the scenario of coexistence of Macrocell and HeNB, through the system level simulation and analysis, obtained the results that compared to the network without the load based resource allocation method, in the network with the deployment of the load based resource allocation method, although the average throughput of the Home UE and all UE in the network has a light loss, the throughput of the Macrocell UE has a huge raise, the fairness among all the users is raised. Moreover, in order not to introduce obvious interference with the deployment of HeNB, the paper research on the critical RF parameter of the HeNB transmitter, propose several reference and recommendation values of the RF parameter according to the development need of the HeNB.
