In Telecommunications Business Analysis System, complexity of the management and access to large data sets is becoming a prominent issue of data producers and users. Data producers need effective ways to organize, manage and maintain massive amounts of data. As the role to describe content, quality, condition and other characteristics of data, metadata is becoming increasingly important in effective management and application of information resources. In order to provide quickly and efficiently process and analyze data, to provide users with decision support, "cloud computing" begin to be introduced to Operation Analysis System. Therefore, with the transplantation to Cloud Computing platform of Operation Analysis System, in order to fully support cloud computing platform, deeply research of the technical architecture, implementation and operational characteristics function of Metadata Management System is necessary. The aim of this thesis is to propose a Metadata Management system for Cloud-based Telecommunications Business Analysis System, supporting modeling and analyzing metadata, and unified management of metadata. This article focuses on the following four aspects:1. Acquisition and deployment of metadata on cloud platform. Metadata of Business Analyzing System could be divided into technical metadata, business metadata and governmental metadata. Governmental metadata and business metadata, mostly from the upper application, usually have different formats. Technical metadata is distributed among all modules, stored in a distributed file system. This paper studies how to achieve unified management of metadata from various sources, and acquisition and deployment of metadata on a distributed file system. 2. Interaction and modeling of metadata based on CWM. OMG promulgated metadata standards CWM 1.0 (Common Warehouse Metamodel Version 1.0) in 2001. CWM defines a metadata framework that describes data sources, data purposes, conversion, and analysis, and defines the processes and operations to establish and manage data warehouse. As a result of the diversity of data sources, metadata in different modules of one system is not the same. One of the key research points of this thesis is the standardization of metadata and development of a metadata model bases on CWM.3. Metadata maintenance and analysis. Metadata is a kind of data which describes data, and contains a large amount of information, including data attributes, data sources, data trends, data relationships and so on. By analyzing the metadata and feeding back the analyze results to users, it provides users an intuitive understanding of the data, and making support for users'business or technical decision.4. Metadata visualization. Wealth of information is implied in the relationships between metadata. Researching the relationship and structure of metadata, it need a visualization platform to show the information, helping form a vivid understanding for management, operating, and technical personal.In the end, the thesis presents a demo system to verify the conclusions.
