Design And Implementation Of Host System Based On ID/Locator Split Architecture

The Internet is becoming an indispensable part in people's life, and promotes the social progress. However, the initial design goal of Internet can not satisfy people's needs for Internet. The support for the needs like mobility, mutihoming and traffic engineering has already become the major issues of Internet, thus routing scalability issues have become more restricted factors to the development of the Internet. The root of these problems is the overloading of IP address semantics:IP address represents both the host identity (the session endpoint at the transport layer), and the host location (the node locator of network topology). Therefore, it's urgent to build a new type of Internet architecture and the core protocol to separate the identity and location to meet the needs of the future development of the Internet.In this thesis, we research the Internet architecture based on ID/locator Split to resolve the overloading problem of IP address semantics. We propose the detailed design of the host system which is one of the functional components of RANGI architecture based on RANGI (Routing Architecture for the Next Generation Internet) and its key technical solutions, specifically including host ID generation and registration, the solution of mapping resolving in host side, the solution of secure communication mechanism between hosts based on ID/locator Split. The solution implements ID/locator Split the RANGI architecture defined, implements the mapping resolving of identity and network location through the interaction with mapping system, and implements identity authentication and communication data encryption between two communication hosts through establishment mechanism of RANGI security association, which provides a security communication guarantee between the hosts.This Paper has finished the requirement analysis, the top level design and detailed design for the above solution of RANGI host system from the perspective of implementation, and has implemented the system management module, the mapping message handling module and RANGI communication handling module. We have finally verified the solution of host system by designing test solution, building the experimental network, deploying host system and implementing unit test and system test.
