With the development of computer network and communications technology, network is becoming more and more complexity and heterogeneity. Therefore, we proposed higher requirement for network's efficiency, intelligence, initiative and flexibility. Traditional centralized network management gradually revealed more and more problems. Because data analysis and data processing centralize in the management station. The expansion of the network will inevitably cause an excessive burden on the management station and the transmission of large amounts of raw data through network management will occupy a lot of network bandwidth which is not suitable for managing large-scale network with hight real-time demands. Therefore, the use of distributed and hierarchical network management is especially import. This paper deeply studies and researches some popular distributed network managemet architecture:CORBA-based distributed network management architecture; P2P-based distributed network management architecture. Accroding to the new requirements of network management, I propose a twisted asynchronous communication frame based object-oriented IPv4/IPv6 distributed network monitoring system. Meanwhile, this paper applies object-oriented technology into the development of network management, which improves the scalability and cross-platform of network monitoring system. This network monitoring system is highly efficient and flexible also has solved the integration of network applications, makes network more scalability and meet the need of today's complex network management.
