With the development of technology, there are more and more applications of digital signal processors.the application of DSP in the field of graphic images(such as graphics transform, image compression, image transmission, image enhancement, image recognition) is increasing rapidly. In this paper, a moving target tracking device based on video is designed and implemented base on TMS320DM62 high-efficiency digital video development board produced by TI.Target detecting and tracking in video is one of the most challenging subjects in the field of computer vision. Traditional video surveillance system typically uses closed-circuit television to obtain images from camera, and then the compressed images are stored or used for other purposes. In recent years, the rapid development of digital video surveillance systems, which overcome the deficiencies of simulation technology, has a higher stability, reliability and operability of the video data. Video data can be cut, find, playback, zoom, change and so on. It provides the possibility of intelligent video surveillance which can support automatically tracking of the target object, exceptions determined, alarming and many other intelligent applications. Compared with traditional analog video surveillance systems, the maintenance costs of digital video surveillance system is lower. Mechanical parts and electronic components of the traditional analog video surveillance system are easy to wear, need to replace frequently. Such as video head which have to be replaced after 1000h of work, These situations is not happen in digital video surveillance system.TMS320DM62 is a high-efficiency digital video development board which produced by TI, Its dominant frequency is 720MHz, calculating ability can reach 5760MIPS, and it has specific digital image process LIB, so it is very fit for the developing of digital image processing system.This paper has researched TMS320DM642 digital video development evaluation board, analyzed its DSP/BIOS real-time operation system and made general designs of devices drivers and software based on DSP/BIOS with the use of UART serial communication module and two cameras this paper build a Embedded intelligent target capture device. On the one hand it can increase the monitoring range of the panoramic camera. On the other hand it can detect and tracking target base on the digital image processing with the PTZ camera to a certain extent.
