Aimed at the classic spiral antenna for the electrical characteristics of ultrawideband and circular polarization, the thesis focuses on the development ofArchimedean spiral antenna in this field. Based on the background of the research,the thesis brings forword the advantages of the Archimedean spiral antenna in thepassive direction-finding antenna field. Besides, it also points at the main dircecionof the development of antenna in the wide band and miniaturization in the future.Based on the research of the basic electromagnetic single pulseļ¼Œthe thesis putsforward to single pulse from single pulse theory to single pulse system. Accordingto the research above, the thesis devotes into the theories and realizing methods ofthe total wide-band and miniaturizated antenna. Meanwhile, the thesis points at thecontradictory affecting enflunence both from the wide band and miniaturization inthe antenna design. With the characteristics of ultra wide band and non-frequencyaffecting, any characteristic cannot be neglected due to some excellent singlecharacteristic standerand.More attention is focused on the research of the planar Archimedean spiralantenna, including the basic modus, working theory and radiation characteristics ofthe two-arm planar Archimedean spiral antenna. Utilizing the method of controlvariable, this thesis studies the spiral antenna performance impact of differentphysical parameters, according to the basic designing parameters of the planarArchimedean spiral antenna. Besides, new modus is improved based on the classictwo-arm planar Archimedean spiral antenna. Creating models and makingexperiment in CST simulation software, this thesis studies the spiral antennacharacteristic parameters and draws the conclusion of miniaturization on the novelplanar spiral antenna through theory and simulation.At last, based on the study of planar Archimedean spiral antenna, the thesisdrops the overall dimensions of the spiral antenna through the improvement of novelmodus. So the miniaturization is realized with the insurance of stable or evenexcellent antenna characteristics performance.
