With the rapid development of modern enterprise on informatization, the quantity of information is becoming larger and larger, especially the non-structured data, which makes the data management more complicated. A large of non-structured data is scattered in every corner of the enterprise, including all kinds of the report tables, electronic documents, pictures, a large number of audio and video files, etc. All of these information play an increasingly important role for decision-making in enterprise. The traditional information management technology is unable to meet the need of non-structured data management in enterprise. In such circumstances, content management and content management technology are drawing people's attention.Content management is a new direction in the development of modern data management, which consists of "content" and "management". Content is a wider concept comparing with data, document and information, while the content management is a series of process that is applied on the "content". Content management focuses on solving the problems about all kinds of the non-structured data or semi-structured data, which include collecting the digital resources, managing and using the data, and integrating the data into the structured data information system, to provide a wider range of data sources for these applications systemIn this thesis, based on the analysis of the content management and related technologies, researches are conducted as followings. Firstly, a content management solution based on Native XML database is proposed. In the solution, the concept of metadata is introduced to describe the properties of non-structured data, further to support the access and search on non-structured information. Secondly, Native XML Database system is able to support XQuery, but could not effectively provide support for keyword based query. In order to better support applications, a Keyword-based Query Interface is designed and constructed, which accepts user's inputting keywords and then automatically truns keywords into the executable XQuery expression. XQuery engine in Native XML database system executes the XQuery expression and returns XML data, which meet user's requirement. Thirdly, discuss the design of Metadata Database, which is consisted of XML schema and a group of related XML instance document. At last, on the basis of Keyword-based Query Interfase and Metadata Database, a prototype of content management system is designed and implemented.The research in this thesis shows that:by adopting Native XML Database and related technologis in content management system, metadata of non-structured data is able to be effectively stored and managed, and non-structured data could be effectively accessed and retrieved. The research in this thesis provides a new approach for the enterprise content management and further promotes the development and application of content management.
