The localization of supersonic bullet with acoustic method has characters of low power consumption, high availability and low cost. In this paper, the technology of acoustic localization based on TDA (time difference of arrival) is researched.Supersonic bullet being fired produces two kinds of acoustic waves, one is muzzle wave, the other is shock wave. In this paper, mathematical models are developed based on the two acoustic waves, and the algorithm for joint localization is formulated.In order to detect the acoustic signal, the detecting circuit is designed, the program for system control is developed, and the TDA of the three channels are measured.In this paper, the localization algorithm of sound source is researched based on Linux OS and PXA270 platform. The main work includes:building the cross development environment, configuring the kernel of embedded OS depend on the system hardware, developing a driver for the serial interface device to realize the data transport from acoustic signal detection board to PXA270. After being sent to PXA270 system, the data will be processed by the localization program, and then give the final result.The test of system is discussed at the end of the paper. The simulation equipment is designed, the test method is introduced and the test data is analyzed. From the result of the test we can get a conclusion that the system can realize the function of acoustic localization.
