With the wide range of USB technology, application and development of USB technology needed to apply to the portable device, USB OTG technology have to meet this demand. Based on the knowledge of MCU technology, USB communication protocol and the USB OTG technology ,and on the basis of the previous ,this article design a USB communication system based on microcontroller.This article researched USB communication, USB protocol implementation process knowledge and a series of related studies, focusing on the USB device enumeration process and the Mass Storage Class protocol. Firstly, in order to be ready to do hardware design, this article researched the basic USB protocol, including the USB data protocol layer, USB device architecture, USB device enumeration. And then this article researched Mass Storage Class protocol transmission, including the Bulk-Only Transport, UFI instruction set. Bulk-Only transport is the main transmission in system, and UFI is the most common command for supporting such transmission instruction set.At the same time, this article designed the hardware for the requirements of the system. Firstly, according to the application of each chip, this system selected the master controller chip, USB master/slave interface chip and FLASH memory chips. This system selected STC10F08XE controller as the microcontroller. It has the full support of 51 series instruction set, and easy to operate priority. And this system selected SL811HS as USB master/slave interface chip, which support a ping-pong operation, automatic address increasing mode and so on. Then this article designed the main part of the hardware connections, including STC10F08XE connected with SL811HS, STC10F08XE connected with the memory and so on.Finally, this article designed the part of the software. This system is mainly work in USB host mode, so the part of software including communication between MCU and SL811HS, send and receive data from the device by SL81lHS, device enumeration and so on. The USB based on microcontroller system of this article still need to do further research and exploration. This article also made the final conclusion and outlook.
