Conventional SAR with a single polarization channel, only can transmit and receive H or V channel data (HH data or VV data). Full-Polarization SAR system has the capability of transmitting and receiving the two channels signals at one and the same time. Accordingly, PolSAR data (HH,HV,VH and VV) provides more target information on the ground than conventional SARs do.Target detection and classification in SAR images is one of the important aspects of the remote sensing application. In recent years, with the rapid development of SAR sensors, many PolSAR techniques are well developed and used, which make the classification possible using PolSAR data. Polarimetric SAR interferometry is a new remote sensing technology which combines effectively information of interferometry technology and polarimetric, it comprehensives the all advantages of interferometry SAR and polarization SAR. Through multi-channel polarimetric comprehensive technology and set up the quantitative relationship of the interferometry phase for multi-polarization, polarimetric interferometry SAR can obviously improve the signal-to-noise ratio of interferometry phase and the parameter inversion precision of ground height. The study is foucused on the extraction of ground information using PolSAR Data. The main research achievements consist of:Firstly, the essential theory of PolSAR technique is mainly discussed. Meanwhile, the existing classification algorithms and the data process are introduced. A very good result is gotten by using comprehensive classification algorithms. Then, the principal theory of InSAR is presented. A brief analysis on mapping accuracy and the interferometric coherences are provided.Thirdly, in this paper we retrieve the elevation height of terrain making use of interferometric, fully polarimetric radar remote sensing L-band data of the amazon rain forest. Compared with conventional single-polarization, PolInSAR can dramatically improve the interferometric coherences, especially in the vegetation area. Moreover, we rough estimate the height of the forest using polarimetric SAR data.
