The wheel is an important of part of motorcycle, car, train and so on,that's an indispensable important components for courrier mission, an important carriers, mading a significant contribution for social progress and development. With the development of science and technology,the wheel production craft had greatly progress in china. But also have certain greater gap than developed countries in production, automatic and intelligent. Germany and other developed countries use automatic mode to product wheels,not only reduced labor, and increased the work efficiency. The operation that hang the hub semi-finished products sent to the coating process of chain transportation equipment is still not realized automation. Most enterprises carry wheels to chains depends on labour, and ensure the valve mouth hole upturned. According to the characteristic, this topic introduce the advanced machine vision technology into study the feature extraction and recognition, using binocular camera for eyes, with Visual C++ as a platform. This paper finish the above image processing and analysis section, based on natural science fund in Shandong Province. This research content include these segments.First, the design of machine vision experiment system. This paper applied the machine vision into the wheels detection field. First, design a feasible experiment system, which includes experimental platform, lighting design, cameras and other hardware. Second, calibrate the camera, establish the mathematical modeling of the experiment and verify the feasibility of the experiment system design theoretically.Second, the image processing and analysis of the wheels. The primary task is to determine the position of the wheel in the grading process. In order to find the wheel position, the paper collect the images of the wheel and do image processing and analysis. The main analysis method such as: Remove the noise of images for pretreatment work, detect the image edge, then threshold segmentation to obtain the image concise characteristics. adopt the projection method to obtain the center position of the wheel image based on image features.Third, image processing and analysis of valve mouth hole. Valve mouth hole position is an important base that wheel loading and unloading location, so collect the image edge of the wheel rim and get the information of the valve mouth hole based on the image processing and analysis, then hang the wheel on positioning suspension. The paper have main methods for the valve mouth hole image processing and analyzing, such as: The pretreatment of the valve mouth hole image. The edge detection and threshold segmentation of the valve mouth hole image. Base on measurement of the valve mouth hole image, complete image recognition of the valve mouth hole. This paper complete the suspension positioning task of the valve mouth hole through the recognition of the valve mouth hole.This paper adopts robot to load and unload the wheels, adopt the image processing and analysis based on machine vision for the shape of the valve mouth hole and the wheel, obtain image characteristics information and identifying target object to facilitate the robot finding the wheel center and the valve mouth hole position, to lay the good foundation for realizing the automation of wheels handling .
