Feedback control systems wherein the control loops are closed through a real-time network are called networked control systems(NCSs). The defining feature of an NCS is that information (reference input, plant output, control input, etc.) is exchanged using a network among control system components (sensors, controller, actuators, etc.).Compared with former control systems, the NCSs are less wiring, lower install cost and they are easier to remote control, diagnosis and maintenance. So that the NCSs are more flexible and reliable. However, the introducing communication networks into the control loops makes the the ideal assumptions that applied in the conventional control theories (such as nondelayed sensing and actuation) must be reevaluated before they could be applied again. Thus, the analysis and design of an NCS become more complex and difficult.Aiming to the NCS with vary time-delays and data packet dropout, the following problems are studied in this dissertation:First, when the random network induced delay is short and the packet dropout is asynchronous, the NCSs are modeled as asynchronous dynamical systems with two events constraints. A design method of feedback controller is discussed by using linear matrix inequality and asynchronous dynamical stability theory, the sufficient condition of exponential stability for the NCS is given and the controller can be obtained. When the random network induced delay is short and the packet dropout is governed by Markov chain, The networked control systems are modeled as markovian jump linear systems. A state feedback controller is be designed to make the NCS stable. Finally, when the random network induced delay is long, the sufficient condition of a state feedback controller and an observer with time delay compensation are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities, respectively.
