In recent years, the technology of communication has a rapid development. With the ending of the 3GPP LTE standard setting, the focus shifted to LTE-Advanced (LTE evolution version). The goal is to achieve the high request on frequency, bandwidth, peak rate, average user throughput and cell edge user througput, in addition to compatible with LTE. LTE-Advanced further proposed Carrier Aggregation, Enhanced UL/DL MIMO, Coordinated Multi-Point transmission and reception, Relay, Heterogeneous network technologies and other key technologies in order to meet the requirement of IMT-Advanced. As an important method to improve cell throughput especially cell-edge throughout, CoMP is one of the hot spots of LTE-Advanced.LTE-Advanced systems which based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) can eliminate intra-cell interference but still can not mitigate inter-cell interference (ICI).Coordinated Multi-Point transmission/reception (CoMP) is one of the candidate techniques for LTE-Advanced systems to increase the average cell throughput and cell edge user throughput in the both uplink and downlink. Collaborative multi-point transmission technology (CoMP) uses the distributed antenna theory to reduce the interference through coordination of multiple base stations. In theory, CoMP technology can break the restriction on spectrum efficiency, by turning interference to useful signal to enhance the user receiving signal to noise ratio, thereby increasing throughput. In this paper, we introduce the system simulation platform based on 3GPP standard, study the JP-CoMP technology. In the research of Joint beam-forming, a dual-codebook based pre-coding algorithm was presented for JP; on the Rank Adaptation technology, the improvement to the whole system was analysed based on the realization of it. Here we also designed a wireless packet scheduler, its implementation flow is analyzed and studied. In addition, channel estimation, the simulation and analysis of its impact on the overall performance.
