Alarm information from network management platform reflect errors and exceptions caused by network or its facilities. However, thousands of messages at the same time may block the database, as well as preventing the manager to locate the exact position of where the error happens. This is because the real reason is hidden by too much of details.Now takes EPON as an instance. The error happened in root-PON port abnormality of OLT-will not only lead to the offline alarm from itself, but also will create tons of branch warning. In this circumstance it is referred as the ONU and switch connected to this PON port. Because they are caused by their root PON Abnormal those alarm information are also called by the name-derived alarms.The huge amount of those redundancy derived alarms result in the difficulty of error location. This paper is designated to solve this problem. The EPON will be combined with derived warning system in order to design a new system for locating the error as well as minimize the cost. The main work is listed below:First, the introduction and conclusion will be provided for the most popular warning information. The algorithm for finding their dependencies, working environments and performance are also discussed as well.And then, the paper will tell the characteristic of EPON topology and those high frequency errors in it. Advanced error detection system will be presented based on the previous algorithm. The source database is from GWD company. There will be spring frame work, MySQL technology, javaRMI in communication session implemented in this system. The software and hardware environments are also concerned. Some analysis will be given based on them.Last but not least, the result and discussion will be presented at the end, and the advantage of this system will be figured out as well as how it can be improved. Besides, some investigations on MSTP warning information will be done for further work.
