With the development of computer, automation, sensors etc. technologies, a solid foundation of digital inspection has been established so that it is possible to implement machining quality control for improving processing accuracy purpose. For developing an on-line digital inspection system, a test bed is designed, which three-dimensional (3D) profile data of an object can be obtained via laser scanning point to point, also the processing accuracy of the measured part can be judged by its 3D profile data. The main contributions of the thesis are given as follows:1.A test bed is built to obtain 3D profile data of parts from measuring distance and dynamical information of the test bed.2.A novel calibration scheme of spot-laser detection system is presented so that the zero point and non-deterministic direction of laser can be avoided. The effectiveness of the presented calibration scheme is demonstrated by experiment.3.Based on differential value scheme, an approach for determining the ideal cross section is propose, which roundness error of cylindrical mechanical parts can be calculated.4.Acquired the number of addendum point accurately through filtration, this filtration is realized by least square fitting.
