Image Matching Algorithms Research

Image matching technology is one of the very basic and important technology of themodern information processing field, the applications include characters recognition,scene profiles of the aerospace photos recognition, weather maps analysis,radar imageprofiles analysis and so on. The aim is to judge the similarity degree of two images.This paper discusses three different types of image matching algorithms: the imagematching algorithm based on the gray of image, the image matching algorithm based onthe features of image, and a composite algorithm of the image matching.The matching algorithm based on the gray image introduces some typical imagematching algorithms, the matching algorithm based on the features of image introducesthe Harris operators and a algorithm based on the Hausdorff Distance. Finally, thispaper gives a composite algorithm based on the two image matching algorithms, and theexperiment shows that the matching speed of composite algorithm has increased in thispaper, and the matching rate meet the requirements, and reach the requirements of thebasic accuracy.
