With the rapid development of global information, road traffic management and transportation-related businesses generally built a management information system about road transport. This system gets a large number of accumulated data on vehicle operating conditions. These data includes two parts:first is the operational status information about running vehicles, such as engine speed, braking, acceleration, etc. These data mainly reflect the real-time vehicle operating conditions. Second is the GPS data about running vehicles, such as the latitude and longitude. These data mainly reflects the driving position, speed and so on. How to mine these data in order to identify the state of running vehicle and extract the rules of vehicle operation is important. This can help the transport enterprises and the relevant functional departments to achieve the vehicle monitoring and management. This has important application value and practical significance.This article is based on achieving collection and transport real-time vehicle operating status information. This paper develops Windows-based PC data receiving and processing software to achieve data preprocessing and storage. The data is received by using the serial communication. It processes and analyses the received and stored vehicle running state data by using PCA principal component analysis and other mathematical methods. This can help to extract the characteristic information which is used to analyze and forecast the operational failure of vehicle unit of work from the engine speed, oil pressure and other operating parameters. We can determine the main cars that need to be monitored according to speeding situation through the GPS data such as vehicle position, speed and so on. Meanwhile, we can get the state of technology and the drivers'information of these main cars. This paper also researches on how to find the rules of speeding by using DBSCAN data mining algorithm. Through this algorithm, we can get the multiple sections of speeding in transportation routes. Consolidated results provide an effective safety control techniques for road transport authorities and transport enterprises.
