With the development of network technology, instant messaging has become the indispensable means of communication in people's daily life. As an important application of P2P technology, instant messaging changes the people's traditional exchange manner and communication habit. Peer to Peer is a self-organizing, scalable, robust distributed network. Peer to Peer technology has already mature in stationary network. Mobile communication has entered a stage of rapid development with the rapid development of GPRS, CDMA and HSDPA and others wireless technology and wireless LAN technology. The number of mobile users has exceeded the number of users in stationary network, and the processing power of the Mobile devices is increasingly strong. The researcher focus on the introduction of instant messaging system into the mobile peer-to-peer (MP2P) environment which is more stronger distributed, more broader participation as the mobile environment becomes mature.Instant messaging and mobile peer-to-peer can be integrated together and fused to the complementary the advantages of resources. The applications of the wireless mobile networks becomes more widely. Telecommunication network, Internet and broadcast networks gradually converged together. Recently, the Web technology continue to mature, especially the applications of Web2.0 technology are rapidly growing, e.g. mobile blog, micro blog and so on. They bring a whole new web experience for people. Unfortunately, Mobile environment has limitations. The limitations of mobile devices: the difference of operation systems, the lower CPU power, the little available memory and the limited of battery capacity. The limitations of Mobile networks: the limit of the bandwidth, the high charging and the security. In that way, mobile devices are often not able to benefit from the participation in P2P network as a common P2P client with the straight-forward approach due to limitations caused by mobility. Therefore it is very important and necessary for the research for instant messaging software for mobile devices. This paper summarizes the design principles and requirements analysis, then propose a hierarchical, integrated with heterogeneous characteristics of mobile peer to peer instant messaging system based on Web for the features of the mobile environment. Through add the agent node in the edge of the P2P network and the mobile devices can participation in the whole P2P network through the agent node. So we can implements the heterogeneous integration of the mobile network and the stationary network in order to achieve different levels of management, and effectively improve the scalability of the instant messaging system. First, we respectively introduce three parts of the system, including P2P overlay, agent node and mobile device and analysis the key technologies of the instant messaging system. Meanwhile, we describe the network environment of the system, system platform and specific functions composition of the system in detail. Then, we implement the P2P overlay with the increasingly sophisticate DHT technology. And then we analysis and elaborate both functionality and protocol of the P2P overlay. Third, we analysis the agent node, descript the function of the agent node module and the specific implementation of each module, and then we introduce mobile devices access to the agent node. At last, we complete the design of instant messaging system, and simulation achieved the process of instant messaging system under lab conditions to verity the feasibility and rationality of the system.
