P2P (peer-to-peer) technology has been widely used, and P2P programs occupies 50-90% Traffic of the Internet. However, P2P software swallows a huge amount of network bandwidth, making operators feel headache. OPT (Optimize P2P Traffic) system is constructed in order to solve the above problem, and it can choose data source during P2P data transferring so that it can avoid cross-city and inter-provincial and cross-country data transfers. So OPT system can control data sources demanded by P2P customer. This function is provided by SAG module.The SAG (Service Access Gateway) module is designed and implemented. SAG mainly provides real-time network topology information for p2p tracker or P2P client, and according to certain rules get the cost of the peer, and transmit to the OPT system, so the system can determine which offer peer is given to users. The system strengthens the communications between the service provider (ISP) and client program, and reduces the stress and cost of transmission backbone network, and takes into account the interests of operators and users. This system solves problems of the optimization of the existing programs in other P2P traffic, and meets the higher requirements, so P2P traffic is a new method optimized.Design of SAG module is that the network is divided into several groups on regional policy and topology strategy, and set group ID. Then determine the network packet of P2P requests for source and destination points, and calculate the cost of the required information. Using the cost of information, P2P client access cost and low cost data firstly, thus limiting the P2P traffic, and achieve the desired effect of traffic Optimization. At the same time, traffic is compensated by Cache module, so that no reduce the degree of user experience is guaranteed. The system has been tested run in Zhejiang Telecom for the Thunder, and 8% of the total flow of provincial network is optimized.
