Information capacity is an effective indicator evaluating the image quality, because it has to reflect the relationship between adjacent pixels and consistent with human vision. On the other hand, the remote sensing images of the characteristics and texture structures in different landforms type area are closely related to information capacity, so in this paper, author built different models in different landscape areas, established contact information capacity and the complexity in different landscape areas, to explore the differences and reasons of information capacity in different landform areas. This research mainly achieved the following results:(1) This research set up the remote sensing images model of information capacity, and built the information capacity model of remote sensing images, and established the constraints regional in different landscape areas.(2) Analyzed the relationship among information capacity, fractal dimensionality and information entropy, and explored the relevance among the three factors. This paper analyzed the contact among the three factors with the relevant analysis method. And the results indicated that information capacity and the other two factors has good correlations, their correlation coefficient all above 0.9.(3) Explored and analyzed the information capacity space laws in different landform areas. The study results showed that the information capacity and fractal dimensionality were great uniformity. On the surf-ace form of complex structure, the value of information capacity is higher, and on the surface form of single structure, the value of information capacity is lower. That remote sensing images information capacity and the earth's surface form characteristic of the proportional.(4) Analyzed the reasons of different landscape areas have different information capacity. This study analyzed from three factors——the remote sensing imaging principle, the computer method of information capacity and the influence factors of information capacity to study the differences of information capacity in different landscape areas.In short, this study effectively promote the application of remote sensing information in the geographical areas, thus facilitate further development of science of geographical.
